Equipsme – Looking back at 2024

Equipsme Looking back at 2024

It’s been a great year for Equipsme, and we’re looking back at some of our 2024 highlights.

Here’s what’s happened in the last year…

1. We grew

We’re a cost-effective middle ground between private medical insurance and cash plans – and our plans have been in demand more than ever in 2024

2. We welcomed new advisers

And we deepened our partnerships with big-name intermediaries who’ve spotted the same gap in the market and wanted to be able to present Equipsme as a whole of workforce solution to their clients. We’re delighted to be working with Aon, Mercer Marsh Benefits and WTW to get our plans out to more uninsured people in more businesses, and to have run lunch and learn sessions for their army of advisers.

3. We launched our Elder Care support discounts

We know benefits budgets are tight, and we’ve spent 2024 adding to our plans. That included the launch of our Elder Care support discounts, as we partnered-up with elder-care experts Taking Care to offer Equipsme members money off personal alarms and support services – helping them help older relatives stay safe and independent at home.

4. We crunched the return on investment (ROI) numbers

In an industry first, we partnered with research and insight experts Fruitful Insight to work out the answer to one of the biggest questions in benefits – what IS the return on investing in health insurance?

The partnership means we can crunch the numbers for individual businesses, based on their employees, productivity and wellbeing, sickness absence rates and reasons, and local waiting times for treatment. They can then take their ROI to boards and stakeholders to make a hard and fast case for investment in health benefits.

5. We work with amii

We are a corporate member of amii – the Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries. It means we can be part of their Health & Wellbeing summits in the Spring and Autumn, connecting with the wider community and getting the Equipsme message out to potential intermediaries and partners.

6. Ava became a cover girl

Our own Ava Embaie, the customer success manager at Equipsme, became a cover girl for Health & Protection, talking about her role at Equipsme, her career to date, and why she loves helping people look after their health.

7. Our clients hit the news too

Ava wasn’t the only person to hit the headlines in 2024.

Some of our fantastic new clients also made the employee benefits news, including packaging and manufacturing firm Greif, Weatherby’s Bank, and engineering firm TBS Engineering.

8. We took to the stage

Our founder and manging director Matthew Reed addressed the Insurtech Insight Conference, joining a panel to discuss the future of employee benefits and also at the LaingBuisson Private Acute Healthcare & Cover Conference talking about taking PMI beyond the boardroom.

9. We were award finalists

We were finalists in the 2024 Health & Protection Awards for both the Best Group Health Insurance Provider and Best Wellbeing Provider, finalists for the LaingBuisson Health Cover Provider of the Year Award, AND finalists for the Cover Excellence Awards in both the Outstanding Health Plan Award category, and their Outstanding Group Health Provider Award category.

These awards all receive hundreds of entries from the very top organisations in the healthcare market, and it’s great to have our hard work and contribution to the industry over the last year recognised.

10. And finally we’re looking forward to an even busier and even more successful 2025.
