6 ways to maximise engagement with your Equipsme plan

If you’ve chosen Equipsme for your team it’s probably because you know that health benefits benefit your business – from improved engagement to reduced sickness absence, quicker returns after illness to better overall productivity. But your Equipsme plan can only really work for your business if your people know about it and are using it.

Encouraging take-up is vital to get the most out of Equipsme, and it’s why we’re here to support you to spread the word.

Here’s six ways to help promote the Equipsme health benefit across your organisation: 

1. Use our Awareness tool kits

We’ve got great Awareness resources to help you promote Equipsme, from digital assets and adverts for your intranet and internal communications, to downloadable posters for the back of toilet doors.  We can even provide co-branded versions if you want your logo next to ours. 2. Embed Equipsme into health campaigns

Health awareness days or challenges are a great way to encourage healthy habits and meet your company health goals. Make sure you include Equipsme service reminders as a call to action. That could be signposting to our menopause resources during Menopause Awareness Month (October), our 24/7 GP virtual for men with prostate symptoms during Movember - or our health checks during Cholesterol Awareness Month (also October).

3. Train your line managers

Equipsme should be part of your training for line managers, who are at the frontline of sickness absence management. They can signpost employees to our services, for instance encouraging people with musculoskeletal issues to speak to book one of their physio appointments. If stress support is part of your Equipsme plan, they’re also in a great position to make sure people on their team know there’s confidential support available to them, 24/7, just a phone call away.

4. Host lunch and learns

We often run webinars for companies when we first roll-out Equipsme – but we also run sessions if you think your people need a reminder or have questions they want to ask us directly. A lunch and learn webinar could be a perfect way to raise awareness - and feature any particular services you want to highlight, like how to add family members to a plan.

5. Add Equipsme to inductions

Include an introduction to Equipsme benefits as part of your induction for all new employees. We’ve even got a new joiner leaflet to help, as part of our awareness resources.

6. Tell your stories

Sometimes the best way to engage people is to tell a story, and show them something in action. If you’ve got examples of members of staff (and members of your leadership team) who’ve used their Equipsme benefits and are willing to share their experience, use those real-life examples and quotes in your communications.
